About Bybi – Copenhagen
It sounds simple, and it should be that way. Honey, bees, flowers, and humans are inextricably linked, but modern production processes have for many years prioritized human consumption over the living systems that we are all a part of. We want to reverse this trend. We aim to cultivate a regenerative system where bees, flowers, and people thrive. Together, we will create space for more species and more positive experiences with each other - with honey as a natural yield of a community that becomes richer over time. Bybi honey is an invitation to join the community. We want to awaken your fascination with the city's tastes, scents, and sounds and make it entirely intuitive to plant more flowers for all pollinating insects. Honey is something we make together.
Urban honey from Copenhagen is a pure and 100% natural product that contains neither pesticides nor air pollution. Bees are very sensitive to smell and avoid flowers that are contaminated. Heavy metals dissolve in fat, but not in water-based honey. Any pollution from the air is filtered out in the bees' own processing procedures. Tests have been conducted on our honey, showing that it is clean and safe for human consumption.
There are over 200 wild bee species in Denmark, and most of them are endangered. Our approach is to develop a production method that benefits all pollinating insects. We are not connected to industrialized agriculture, as many beekeepers in the countryside are, and our bees do not compete with wild bees in natural areas, as they live in the city. We believe that bees in the city provide us with a unique opportunity to create a system that is not so much in harmony 'with' nature, but in harmony 'as' nature.
